Story Stream - Terms & Conditions

Thank you for agreeing to allow JD Sports Fashion PLC (“JD Sports”) to use your photo, video, post, and/or other online content (the "Content"). To make sure that there are no misunderstandings between us, these Terms and Conditions will identify the terms and conditions of our agreement. By giving us permission:

1. You grant permission for your Content to be used by JD Sports and its group companies for commercial use in promotional material, in any and all media, worldwide, including but not exclusive of digital brochures, retail store graphics, press articles, offline and online advertising, paid media, social media, emails, websites, digital screens, internal and external events, film, video, cable and broadcast television and the internet.

2. You agree JD Sports and its group companies, agents and associates do not have to credit your Content to you, unless otherwise agreed in writing outside of this document.

3. JD Sports reserves the right without your approval, to edit, change or alter your Content as it deems necessary.

4. You accept that there will be no form of payment and/or compensation made to you or to a third party, for the use of the Content.

5. You may subsequently withdraw your permission for JD Sports to use your Content. Further, you agree that JD Sports’ subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, representatives and anyone else acting on behalf of JD Sports, or with JD Sports permission, also has the right to use the Content as provided in these Terms and Conditions.

6. JD Sports respects the intellectual property rights of others and does not want to use any Content that violates the rights of any third party, or will be viewed as defamatory, obscene, or threatening to any other party. Therefore, by giving JD Sports permission to use your Content, you represent and warrant to JD Sports that: a) you are the owner of the Content you have provided, including all ideas, images, text, and intellectual property rights within the Content, including, copyrights, trademark rights, patent rights, publicity rights, and privacy rights, or if you are not the owner of such rights, you have already obtained permission from the owner of such rights and have the authority to grant JD Sports permission to use the Content as provided in these Terms and Conditions; b) JD Sports’ use of your Content as provided herein will not infringe on the intellectual property rights, publicity rights, or privacy rights of any third party, or require the payment of any compensation to any third party; c) nothing in the Content you provided is likely to be considered defamatory, obscene, or threatening to any third party; and d) you are over the age of 18 and have the right to accept these Terms and Conditions in your own name.

7. You hereby release JD Sports from any claims related to JD Sports’ use of the Content as permitted herein, whether in existence today or in the future, including, without limitation, all rights, demands and/or liabilities regarding invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, violation of the rights of publicity and privacy, moral rights and/or breach of confidentiality.

8. How to share your Content with JD Sports. By completing any of the following steps you acknowledge and agree that you have read, understand, and agree to these Terms and Conditions: (1) Manual upload: manually uploading your Conent via JD Sports’ website; or (2) Tagging or hashtagging: tagging in the body copy or image of your Content on social media either: @jdsports or such other social media handle as made clear to you by JD Sports or featuring any of the following hashtags in your body copy #jdsports or such other hashtag as made known to you by JD Sports. Should JD Sports wish to use such Content related to the tag or hashtag, you will receive a direct message on social media requesting rights to use the desired Content and instructing you to follow a link where you can grant usage rights; or (3) Rights by comment: tagging @jdsports or such other social media handle as made clear to you by JD Sports in the body copy or image of your post or featuring any of the following hashtags in your body copy #jdsports or such other hashtag as made known to you by JD Sports. Should JD Sports wish to use such Content, we will publish a comment on the desired Content post requesting rights to use such Content. You must reply with #MEINJD in order to provide such consent for us to use your image.

9. If your Content features someone under the age of 13, JD Sports will ask you as their legal parent or guardian to give us your consent to use the Content. If you wish to provide it, consent must be provided separately to these terms and conditions in accordance with JD Sports’ process for each of the above steps in paragraph 8 above which will be explained to you before such consent is provided. Such consent can be withdrawn at any time by emailing JDUKSocial@jdplc.com.
