Back in class? Heading on hol? We all need a backpack.
Picking the right one isn’t easy, especially when there’s so many to choose from.
Waterproof backpacks made for the outdoors to laptop backpacks made for work, we’ve got them all.
adidas, Nike, The North Face. They’re all in there. We’ve got the little ones covered for school, too, with black bags from our kids’ backpack collection.
How to wash a backpack?
First up, empty everything out. Check hidden pockets for anything that could get wet.
Next, brush off loose mud with a soft brush or cloth.
If your bag needs a light clean, mix soap or detergent with lukewarm water. Scrub the stains and rinse with clean water.
If it needs a deeper clean, fill a tub or sink with soapy lukewarm water. Dip your backpack in and gently scrub the stain. Rinse through and wring out the excess water.
For even worse stains, machine wash (make sure you check the care label first). Turn the backpack inside out and put it in a laundry bag or pillowcase. Put it on a gentle cycle with cold water and don’t use fabric softener or bleach.
Always airdry your backpack, hanging it upside down and out of sunlight.
How to pack a backpack?
The heaviest gear needs to sit closest to your back, in between your shoulder blades. Laptops, spare sneaks, food - whatever it is. If it’s gonna weigh you down, you don’t want it pulling you backwards.
Around the sides and bottom, pack your lighter items. Books, extra clothing and sleeping bags to name a few.
Got extra pockets? Drop your quick access items in there like snacks and a water bottle, while your coat can fit in the bungee cord front (if your bag has it).
If you’re just packing clothes, put them in reverse order of how you’ll need them. Then you can grab what you need first without pulling everything else out.
What size backpack is best for a 3-month travel period?
As a rough guide, 20-30 litre backpacks are best for short weekend trips, while 30-45 are ideal for longer holidays.
If you’re travelling for a few months, 40-55 litre backpacks fit the goods (without overpacking), while being comfy enough for a full day on the go.
Cover everything? Grab the essentials and stash them away with our backpacks range.
