Not familiar with adidas’ City Series? We’ll fill you in. Back in the ‘70s and ‘80s, adidas dropped a collection of sneakers – each inspired by a different European city. We’re talking the Brüssel, Malmö, Stockholm, Dublin, Berlin (the list goes on, you get it).

In 1976, adidas Originals dropped the München aka. Muenchen trainer. It’s inspiration? The city of Munich. The Bavarian capital. Home of Bayern Munich. Its cultural and sporting heritage was enough for adidas to name a trainer after it.

It had suede up top, and a foil ‘München’ wordmark to the side. A big hit with football fans, who adopted the 3-Stripes look and took it into the ‘80s.

Almost half a century later – after becoming a terrace cult classic. They’re back. And they’re just as iconic. The OG white Trimm Trab midsole’s been swapped out for gum. But the classic look remains the same. Leather 3-Stripes. Gold-tone wordmark. All the best bits.
